Introducing the DLF Champions Cup Series!

In partnership with Dynasty League Football we bring a new series of dynasty leagues format!

  • Each series is divided into four 12 team leagues (North, East, South, West)
  • Only one team per owner allowed per series
  • Each league like a normal dynasty league with it’s own payouts
    • 1st: $400
    • 2nd: $200
    • 3rd: $100
  • At the end of 3 years, a Series Champion is crowned and wins the Champions Cup and a Champions Pot of $1000. Scoring for crowning the champion is as follows:
    • League Championship: 4 points
    • League 2nd place: 2 points
    • League 3rd place: 1 point
    • League Regular Season Points Champion: 1 point
    • League Most Regular Season Wins: 1 point

Dynasty Leagues are fantasy leagues where you keep all your players from year to year. By definition, your roster limit is never reduced in the offseason not even prior to a rookie draft. It is either increased or stays the same. You draft rookies each offseason to add to your team.

SafeLeagues DLF Dynasty Champion League Series Official Rules

A Dynasty League is a league where a team keeps all players from year to year. In the first year of the league, each owner acquires a roster of players in a draft or auction. At the end of each season, each owner’s entire roster transfers to the next season. Each season there will be a rookie draft, during which rookies may be selected, described in more detail below.

SafeLeagues proudly uses MyFantasyLeague as our game play provider (“MFL” or “Game Play Site”). Owners will receive a link and login information to their MFL league after making payment for their league. We are at the mercy of MFL for their players and  designations. This includes available players, positions, injury or suspended designations, etc. We will not manually change and designation or add players to the player pool. That is designated and done by the host site.

  1. No owner may have a stake in more than one franchise in the same SafeLeagues league.
  2. Special to the DLF Series, no owner may have a stake in more than one franchise in the same DLF Dynasty Champion Series. If caught, both teams may be removed from the owner without refund.
  3. If an owner abandons their franchise (either by declaring that they have given up their team, failing to pay by the payment deadline for the upcoming season, non-responsiveness, or not actively managing their team), the owner gives up their claim to any and all prize winnings.
  4. If a franchise is deemed to have been abandoned, the ownership of that franchise reverts to SafeLeagues. SafeLeagues will either take control of the franchise for the remainder of the season or SafeLeagues may sell abandoned Empire League franchises at cost, below cost, or to the highest bidder through the SafeLeagues website.
  5. If an owner dies or is otherwise incapacitated, his/her team may be bequeathed in accordance with his/her last will and testament, or if incapacitated, member’s power of attorney. Please see additional details in the section entitled “INHERITANCE.”
  6. If an owner abandons a franchise, that owner may never re-join the same league as an owner or co-owner of a different franchise.
  7. If an owner is caught cheating by collusion, tanking, or any other means SafeLeagues reserves the right to remove that owner from the league. SafeLeagues also reserves the right to remove that owner, without refund, from all of their teams in SafeLeagues and ban them from SafeLeagues.
  8. Co-owners are not allowed for the purposes of paying the annual entry fee or receiving prize money. I.e. one owner must pay the entire entry fee, and only one owner will receive winnings due to the franchise. Co-owners are allowed on the Game Play site.
  9. Owners may not give/sell their team to another person. All owners must legally go through geolocation and identity verification, so giving/selling of a team from one owner to a new person without approval from SafeLeagues is strictly prohibited and the team will be taken away and revert back to SafeLeagues.
  10. Note on progressive pots… I guess the best analogy would be like everyone putting money in a progressive pot slot machine and each person taking pulls. Some of you have won, but the progressive hasn’t been won yet. Some may stop putting money in the machine next year and chose to stop trying. New owners may come in and put money in the machine and try to win a pull or maybe even the progressive eventually. You can’t just take it out of the machine. New owners may come in and put more money in that machine and some going to the progressive pot and try their hand at winning… But it’s in the machine now. It’s part of the league. Not belonging to any owner until it’s won. Exactly zero of the empire pot belongs to any one owner. Feeling “stuck” as a couple have mentioned before is a feeling. It’s a feeling somewhat kind of like the feeling of pot commitment at a poker table. I get that it’s strong. I empathize with that. That progressive pot is won by someone winning back to back years.
  11. In the dynasty champions series specifically, we ask that family members don’t join the same league just as an extra precaution. They may join the same series.

Owner’s Experience Level

An owner’s experience level will be noted on MFL sites with one of these two markers. If an owner does not meet these qualifications they will not have a marker next to their team. Each league/year you enter is a separate contest. If you play in a dynasty league, each year is a new contest.

  • More than 500 contests entered OR
  • Has winnings totaling $2500 cumulative across 5+ contests

Highly Experienced

  • More than 1000 contests entered OR
  • Has winnings totaling $1000 in 3 or more contests

League Renewal Deadline: March 1, 2020….. (2021 date TBD – likely between 2/1-2/29 again)
Each franchise must make their payment for the upcoming season prior to March 1, 2020. If payment has not been received by March 1, 2020 SafeLeagues reserves the right to declare a franchise as abandoned.

  • This rule was April 1 for the 2019 season. It was moved up from due to our massive increase in leagues. We need to sell orphans before the early May rookie drafts to ensure all leagues are filled and ready on time. This is a dynasty league, year round interaction and activity is expected.

Annual Rookie Draft: May, after the NFL Draft

  • The annual rookie draft will be held after all league members have renewed for the upcoming season and/or after all orphaned teams have been sold. This will be approximately the first Monday in May. On the rare occasion there are still orphans to be sold, the draft will be delayed until the league is full.

League entry/payouts are as follows:

DLF Dynasty Champions Series Leagues ($75 entry fee per year + $6.95 regulatory fee):

The below are payouts within each of the four 12 team leagues within the series:

  • Annual league champion (4): $400
  • Annual league runner-up (4): $200
  • Annual league 3rd Place finisher (4): $100

The below is a series payout after 3 years:

Dynasty Champion’s Cup ($1000):

Each Dynasty Champion Series has 4 divisions (48 teams)

At the end of 3 years, the Champion’s Cup pot of $1000 is awarded to the winner of the series with the most series points as follows:

League Championship: 4 points
League 2nd place: 2 points
League 3rd place: 1 point
League Regular Season Points Champion: 1 point
League Most Regular Season Wins: 1 point

The above points are earned within the 12 team league.

If there is a tie for any category, both teams will receive the point. Example, 2 teams in the same league finish best in their league with a 11-2 record, they both get the point for “Most Regular Season Wins”

If an owner leaves, the new owner acquires any points left. The points are attributed to the FRANCHISE, not the OWNER.

At the end of the 3 years, a new 3 year series will begin. You do not disband or redraft teams. You keep your teams, it’s just the start of a new cup series.

If there is a tie for the Champions Cup Pot after 3 years, it will be split.

There is a $6.95 regulatory fee to help pay for the regulation and licensing fees that now exist in many states. SafeLeagues pays for licensing and registration in nearly all states that have one and allow fantasy sports to be played. Due to this, there are only a few states where fantasy sports are banned: Arizona, Delaware, Iowa, Louisiana, Montana, Vermont, or Washington. We are legal in all other states and Canada. Unfortunately SafeLeagues isn’t legal outside of US/Canada.

All league finances will be administered by SafeLeagues through the LeagueSafe website. End-of-season payouts will be allocated in accordance with the Terms of Service.

All teams are comprised of 30 players (10 starters and 20 bench players), as follows:

  • 1 Quarterback
  • 2 Running Backs
  • 2 Wide Receivers
  • 1 Tight End
  • 1 SuperFlex Player (QB/RB/WR/TE)
  • 3 Flex Player (RB/WR/TE)
  • 20 Bench Spots

Please note, you are NOT required to fill all starting lineup requirements in the draft/auction (start-up or rookie), but your starting lineup must be filled by the start of Week 1. You must submit a valid starting lineup weekly.

After the season has concluded and going into the offseason, owners will have the ability to drop and trade players. The only requirement is that you are able to field a valid starting lineup by week 1 and each week when you submit your lineup.

You must stay within your roster limit at all times. It is a hard limit. If you offer a trade, it’s wise to make the players even by including the player you could drop. If you are drafting and your roster is full; you must either drop a player and pick a new one, trade the pick, let your timer expire, or have the commissioner skip your pick.

If an owner does not submit a lineup by Thursday morning of each week, the system will automatically submit a lineup using the Fantasy Sharks Lineup Coach. Owners may adjust lineups up until kickoff of each players game. Owners that swap out players for injured or obviously inferior players, will be removed from the league. If an owner fails to submit their own lineup for multiple weeks, they may be removed from the league.

Owners are responsible for making sure they have a set lineup. They should check to make sure their lineup is set and there were no errors. Owners should not depend on the Fantasy Sharks lineup setter. Owners are responsible for personally submitting a lineup each week. Failure to do so will be seen as league inactivity and potentially lead to a team being deemed abandoned.

The Fantasy Sharks lineup setter setting will be turned off for those who trade their future 1st and haven’t paid for that year yet.

Roster Lock
Players in your starting lineup will lock at their scheduled kickoff. That means you can add/remove a player from your starting lineup as long as their game hasn’t started.

Injured Reserve
There will be no IR. Per discussion with DLF, we have decided to make the roster larger and not deal with IR. You should have ample space for injured players on your roster or decide whether they are worth keeping.

DLF Dynasty Champion Series Leagues use a PPR-based scoring system. Full scoring breakdown is as follows:

League Scoring System

SafeLeagues offers Live Drafts, Email Drafts, and Slow Auctions for the initial player distribution method.

If a player is not in the system, we can’t add them. We are at the mercy of MFL’s player pool and designations. MFL will likely add them later when drafted, then they will be available.

For leagues still drafting as the NFL season nears, the clock will be adjusted to make sure all leagues finish drafting in time for the season.

Through 9/6, timer is 4 hours per pick,
9/7 10AM EST: the timer changes to 3 hours per pick,
9/8 10AM EST:  the timer changes to 2 hours per pick,
9/9 10AM EST:  the timer changes to 1 hour per pick,
9/10 10AM EST:  the timer changes to 15 minutes per pick.

We strongly recommend you pre-draft picks as much as possible leading up to the season.

This should make sure all drafts get done on time for the season.

Startup Drafts
Startup Snake Draft

Franchises will select their players in year one via a snake draft. The draft will be held live online or via email. Each franchise will be assigned a draft slot randomly by the commissioner or draft service.

Startup Email Drafts

If you would prefer to a serpentine draft over the course of several days or even weeks, you can partake in an email draft. MFL tracks all the details and sends emails after each pick to update everyone on the draft’s progress.  The draft order is randomized, and the draft will begin as soon as the league is full.

The draft timer will be set at four hours per selection, but the clock will be suspended over night from 12 AM EST to 8 AM EST.  In the event an owner allows the time limit to expire, their pick will be automatically made based on MFL’s ADP. If an owner allows the timer to expire twice, they will be put on auto by the system and picks will be made by ADP and must inform the commissioner if they want to be taken off auto.

Trades are allowed before and during the startup draft.

***Because of the varying times picks are made in an email draft, incorrect picks are unlikely to be reverted by the commissioner. Owners are responsible for entering their correct pick, and ensuring it is the player they want before they hit submit. Please use caution! The commissioner will use best judgement. If you immediately contact the commissioner and the timestamps are within a reasonable amount of time and and in most cases if no other picks have been made, a pick may be changed. Timeouts won’t be changed.

You must stay within your roster limit at all times. It is a hard limit. If you offer a trade, it’s wise to make the players even by including the player you ould drop. If you are drafting and your roster is full; you must either drop a player and pick a new one, trade the pick, let your timer expire, or have the commissioner skip your pick.

Annual Rookie Drafts

Each subsequent year after the startup draft, a draft will be held to distribute rookies. This draft will be held in May after the NFL Draft.

Draft Order (rules for the 2021 rookie draft)

The draft order for the annual rookie draft will be determined as follows:

  • Picks 1-9 will be decided by regular season potential points. They will go in order of lowest amount of potential points to 9th lowest potential points. Potential points are the amount of points a team would have scored each week had they set a perfect lineup. So benching a stud player for a backup will not help your draft position.
  • Pick 10 goes to the 3rd place finisher.
  • Pick 11 goes to the 2nd place finisher.
  • Pick 12 goes to the league champion.

The following criteria will be used to break any ties when determining the draft order:

  • Total Points Scored (fewest gets the higher pick)
  • All-play winning % (lowest % gets the higher pick)
  • Divisional Winning Percentage (worst gets the higher pick)
  • Reverse Order of Opponent Total Points Scored

The annual rookie draft is an NFL-style straight draft, meaning the draft order will be the same as shown above for all rounds.

Roster limit will remain 28 players, year round. You will have to drop a player in order to draft a player should you hit your player limit.

If you allow the timer to expire twice you will be put on auto and must contact the commissioner to take you off.

You are allowed to trade during the Rookie draft. Trades must be done within your roster limit.

***Because of the varying times picks are made in an email draft, incorrect picks are unlikely to be reverted by the commissioner. Owners are responsible for entering their correct pick, and ensuring it is the player they want before they hit submit. Please use caution! The commissioner will use best judgement. If you immediately contact the commissioner and the timestamps are within a reasonable amount of time and no other picks have been made, a pick may be changed. For the most part, we will apply a “it’s laid, it’s played” viewpoint and you may have to live with the mistake.

You must stay within your roster limit at all times. It is a hard limit. If you offer a trade, it’s wise to make the players even by including the player you would drop. If you are drafting and your roster is full; you must either drop a player and pick a new one, trade the pick, let your timer expire, or have the commissioner skip your pick.

There are 3rd party apps (phone and web) to help with things in these leagues. Many people like MFL Platinum. Just a note, I recommend against them for drafting. They can cause issues. Most people have no troubles. Use them at your own risk. Neither SafeLeagues nor MFL can control some of the things they do.

There will be no divisions. Owners will play every team in the league at least once and some teams twice. Tie scores are permitted during regular season play. Schedule will be randomized each year.

The regular season begins on Week 1 of the NFL season and will end upon the conclusion of Week 13.

Six teams qualify for the playoffs, as follows: the top two records will get byes (highest winning %) and four wild card teams. In the event of a tie, the spot(s) will be determined by the following tie-breaking criteria:

  • Total Points Scored
  • Divisional Winning Percentage
  • Reverse Order of Opponent Total Points Scored

The 4 wild card spots will be decided by record (highest winning %). In the event of a tie, the “Record-based” wild card spot(s) will be determined by

  • Total Points Scored
  • All-Play Winning %
  • Reverse Order of Opponent Total Points Scored

The top two seeds (top two best records) receive a bye in Week 14, while the #3 seed plays the #6 seed, and the #4 seed plays the #5 seed. In the event of a tie score in a playoff game, the following tie-breaking criteria will be utilized to determine a winner:

  • Go to the next decimal (thousandth)
  • Highest seed advances

SafeLeagues will do its best to monitor for ties, but owners involved in a tied playoff game MUST contact their SafeLeagues commissioner, so he can apply the tiebreaking criteria to the matchup and determine a winner.

Once winners have been determined for the opening round of the playoffs, the #1 seed will face the winner of the #4 and #5 seed game, and the #2 seed will face the winner of the #3 and #6 seed game (in Week 15). The winners of the Week 15 matchups will then compete in the championship game held in Week 16. The losers of the Week 15 matchups will compete in the consolation game for the third-place prize (also in Week 16).

Trading is permitted, all trades will be automatically processed.

If you believe that there is collusion involving a trade or a trade is far too unbalanced, email the commissioner within 24 hours. Preferably as soon as you can. If possible, provide evidence as to why you think the trade was collusive. We understand everyone has their opinions on players and trades, but we can’t make rulings based off if we would personally do a trade or not. Trades that certain owners feel are lopsided happen in every league. We are looking for collusion, and that’s the main reason we will reverse a trade. In some rare instances, the commissioner may even reverse a trade if the team is being removed from the league. If a league complains about a trade and it feels too unbalanced and we can’t justify the reasoning for the trade, we may overturn it for the good of the league. In all instances, SafeLeagues’ ruling is final and cannot be appealed or disputed. Once we get 3 protests for a trade, we’ll look into it. If we get 3 protests AND the trade comes up as one side receiving more than 2.5x the value of the other side based on DLF’s trade analyzer, it may be reversed.

If there is a draft pick trade where all the higher picks are on one side, the trade will almost always be reversed if notified and it will be looked into. If there is an instance where the majority of the higher picks are on one side to a degree it doesn’t make sense, it may be reversed.

If an owner contacts us via email within a reasonable amount of time and says a deal was accepted in error or made an accident in the trade they offered, we will reverse that trade as well. It may not be done immediately since we aren’t next to our email at all times, but timestamps will be checked.

Trading of FAAB budget is allowed.

Trading will be allowed immediately once you pay for the league and up until the trade deadline, which is the kickoff of week 13.In 2020, the trade deadline will move to kickoff of week 11

Draft picks may be traded, but no more than one year into the future (i.e. in the year 2018, you can only trade draft picks for the 2018 and 2019 seasons). The following year draft picks become available for trade after we roll over leagues on MyFantasyLeague for the new year. This usually happens in mid February.

Future year draft picks can be traded. If you are trading a future 1st round pick, you must pay for the year in which that pick resides. Now that trading is automatic, rights on the site like add/drop, trading, etc will be revoked if not paid.. The commissioner (system) will revoke the abilities of anyone who hasn’t paid for the future year after trading their future 1st until they are paid for that year. This will happen every morning except Sunday. Rights will be reinstated within 24 hours of payment. Due to the system taking up to 24 hours, will not axe rights on Sunday morning to avoid issues in setting lineups. It is an owners responsibility to make sure they pay for the future year when trading a future pick at the time of their trade. A delay in payment may result in rights being removed and inability to claim players via waivers, free agency, or even set a lineups. If a team pays for their future year when making the trade when they are supposed to, their rights are unlikely to ever be revoked. In some rare instances, the commissioner may even reverse a trade assuming no other transactions have happened and the team is being removed from the league. The commissioner may reverse the trade regardless of these things if collusion is suspected. In empire leagues, if the league disbands prior to that draft, teams will be refunded future year’s payment.

If you trade a future 1st round pick and pay for the future year because of that, that payment can not and will not be refunded if you leave the league. That payment will go to help with the cost of orphans in general. Not necessarily specific to that team.

Future 1st trading process: You are to pay for a future year at the time you trade that future year’s first round pick. The link is easily available on the MFL site in a module on the front page. Each morning, the system will email a link to pay if you have not. It comes from an automated, noreply email… so it may hit spam. The system will also turn off your abilities (set lineup, add/drops, waivers, etc) and the fantasy sharks lineup setter on MFL at that time. The system will send links on Sunday morning, but will not axe abilities. This means if you trade your future 1st after Saturday at 530am, the system won’t axe your abilities until Monday morning. If you do not pay after the trade, you will be emailed about our inactivity rules. You will need to pay and set your next lineup or you will be removed from the league for inactivity. Your team will be deemed abandoned, given away, and you will be banned from buying new teams in safeleagues. If you abandon your team after trading your future 1st round pick and refuse to pay for the future year, SafeLeagues reserves the right to remove you from all of your SafeLeagues teams and potentially ban you from SafeLeagues.

Trades in the final few weeks before the trade deadline will be held under higher scrutiny and are more likely to be reversed by the commissioner. After the trade deadline, the commissioner may reverse any trades made in the final week on Saturday morning after the trade deadline if the future year is unpaid for. Trading a future first round pick and delay or refusal to pay may result in being removed from the league without refund.

If you abandon a team during the season (including refusal to pay for the future year due to a future first round pick trade) you will not be able to buy new SafeLeagues teams or orphans the following year or possibly forever.

Lopsided trades are not allowed in the system if there aren’t enough roster spots to process the trade. If you wish to make a 3 player for 1 player trade… the owner receiving more players must drop the player(s) necessary so the trade will fit within their roster limit.

Season Trade Deadline
The final trade deadline is the kickoff of week 11.

All leagues utilize a Free Agents Acquisition Budgets (FAAB) Blind-Bidding waivers system. Each owner begins the year with a $100 FAAB budget to place blind bids on waived players. This is for in season and off season waivers. It’s all you get for the entire year. To pick up a player who is on waivers, a minimum bid of $0 must be made. The owner with the highest bid will acquire the player, and for the exact dollar amount that was bid. Since this is blind-bidding, other owners will not be able to see your bid amount (and for what player) until waiver claims are processed. All bid amounts must be made in $1 increments.

Blind bidding is not conditional. Simply bid the amount you want on a player along with the player you want dropped (if you have an open roster spot you don’t need to drop a player).

In the event two or more owners bid an equal amount on the same player, the following criteria will be used to break the tie:

  • Earliest Submitted Bid

After each waiver claim period is complete, first-come-first-served (FCFS) players will be available for pick up. All FCFS transactions are $0 and nothing will be deducted from your FAAB balance.

Please see below for this season’s blind-bidding and FCFS timelines.

Offseason Acquisitions

Waivers will run weekly on Wednesday at 1PM EST starting after the annual rookie draft is completed. These will likely run from early June through the 1st week of September. Tiebreak is Earliest Submitted Bid. During the offseason there is no first come, first serve waivers. There are only blind bidding waiver runs each week.

FCFS waivers will start following the last waiver run before the season starts.

In-Season Acquisitions

After the conclusion of Week 1, the first in-season blind-bidding period will run on Wednesday at 1:00 PM EST. At that point, all waiver claims will be processed, and all unclaimed players will be available on a FCFS basis until their respective game kicks off for that week.

Once a player’s game kicks off, they will be put on waivers until the next waiver run on Wednesday at 1:00 PM EST. This schedule/cycle will continue on a weekly basis for the remainder of the fantasy season.

A player may be dropped at any time, regardless of when or how they were acquired.

A player who is dropped may be picked up immediately if the drop does not take place between the kickoff of that player’s game and that week’s waiver run.

All add/drops and lineup changes must be submitted 5 minutes before kickoff for each player involved. This deadline will be strictly enforced on the Game Play Site.

*Rosters freeze for all teams after Week 16. The blind bidding process continues during the playoffs in Weeks 14-16, even for teams that have not made the playoffs.

No free agent pickups are allowed between the end of Week 16 and the annual rookie draft.

Undroppable Players

As an anti-collusion measure, there may be a list of players deemed “undroppable.” based on Fantasy Sharks list used by MFL. In all instances, SafeLeagues will decide whether a player was dropped in an attempt at collusion.

We are dedicated to ensuring all SafeLeagues are competitive throughout the entire season. The act of “throwing games” (i.e. losing on purpose by submitting a lineup containing injured players, inactive players, free agents, players on bye, or obviously under-performing players) is strictly prohibited. Although the draft order will not be affected by such a move… it creates a win-loss imbalance in the league and SafeLeagues reserves the right to immediate remove any owner deemed to be deliberately throwing games from the league. Teams that are abandoned in this way -> See the section entitled “Abandoned Teams” for further details.

SafeLeagues reserves the right to take whatever action is deemed necessary, including inaction or retroactively setting a lineup, to rectify a situation related to throwing games.

If you believe a team in your league is deliberately throwing games, you must notify your SafeLeagues commissioner via email to address the issue. It is solely up to SafeLeagues to determine whether a team is deliberately throwing games, and to determine the appropriate course of action. In a situation where such a determination has not been made until after games have already started for that week (or previous weeks, in the event the tanking owner is not identified until after they have submitted intentionally bad lineups for several weeks), SafeLeagues may retroactively set the tanking owner’s lineup for the previous week. SafeLeagues will be unable to set the lineup for a week earlier in the season. Players on that team may have changed and may not be available for retroactively setting that lineup.

Bye week players cannot be in starting lineups. This includes K and DST. If you have no replacements available on your roster, you must pickup a replacement. Refusal to pickup bye week replacements may be considered tanking and may be cause for removal from the league. Rosters may be adjusted by the commissioner at anytime using pregame Fantasy Sharks projections rankings. This means the commissioner will make and necessary add/drops and starting lineup adjustments necessary. Adds will be made based on Fantasy Sharks projections. Drops will be made based on Dynasty League Football ADP or a spare DST or Kicker based on season long rankings.. It is possible there are no replacements on the waiver wire.

We must be contacted by end of day Tuesday in order to correct the previous week’s lineup/roster. Rosters/Lineups and Win/Loss for week’s prior to the previous week will not be altered but will be taken into consideration when deciding whether or not to remove an owner found to be tanking.

It is possible there are no replacements at the QB, K, or DST position available on the waiver wire. In the case where all NFL starters at those positions are owned, starting a bye week player is permitted. To clarify since the above isn’t clear enough… this is for ultra rare instances where all NFL defenses, or all starting NFL kickers, or all starting NFL quarterbacks are rostered. This will never be an issue with running backs or wide receivers.

Player renting is always collusion in any league. It is two teams working together at the detriment of one other team and/or the league. Player renting can be trading a player or players for picks or players and then trading back within the same season. Even if one team acquires slightly more benefit. An example. Team A trades Gurley for a 1st and 4th to team B. A week or two later Team B trades Gurley back for that 1st. Team A keeps the 4th. Even with benefit, player rentals are always collusion in any league. Trading players not on bye for players on bye and then trading back also falls under this. Trading players to one team making a playoff run and then trading those players back after the season also falls under this. Player rentals are always collusion in any league and can not be allowed even once.

Offering anything, money, food, goods, or services, benefits of any kind outside of the actual league for assets in the league constitutes collusion as well. Only trading picks, players, blind bidding money is allowed.

Behavior of dropping and adding players between two teams could be considered collusion in some cases.

A team may be deemed abandoned for several reasons including but not limited to failure actively manage the team (set lineups, make moves required at certain deadlines, etc) or a non-responsive owner who has not responded to our attempts to contact. A team may be deemed abandoned even if they respond to our attempts to contact, but still do not begin actively managing their team.

When a team has been deemed abandoned, either because of a suspected cheating owner, being a non-responsive owner, and/or no longer actively managing their team, SafeLeagues will look for an owner to take over that team for the remainder of the season. This may also be due to a team being inactive due to not paying for their future season after trading their future 1st.

If you disappear during your draft and are on auto for multiple rounds without responding to contact by the commissioner, you may be replaced without refund.

There will be no refunds for an abandoned team.

If a team has been deemed abandoned as a result of not making their entry fee payment prior to the League Renewal Deadline, SafeLeagues will attempt to sell the franchise on the SafeLeagues website and/or via email, social media, or other means.

Once you pay for a contest/league there are no refunds after you have made any moves (draft picks, waivers, trades, etc). Only under rare circumstances at the discretion of Safeleagues will there be refunds for leagues.

If you have orphaned 3 or more teams in SafeLeagues/Throwback that you owned the prior year, you may not be allowed to purchase orphans or new teams. You must also be paid up in your SafeLeagues/Throwback leagues before purchasing orphans or new teams. This includes paying for future years in leagues you have traded your future first. If you abandoned teams in season the prior year, you may not be allowed to purchase new orphans or teams. You may also be banned from buying teams in SafeLeagues/Throwback indefinitely.

If an owner dies or is otherwise incapacitated, his or her franchise may be bequeathed in accordance with his/her last will and testament, or if incapacitated, member’s power of attorney. Inheritance is restricted as follows:

  1. The heir may not be another member of the same league.
  2. No person may be designated heir to more than one franchise in the same league.
  3. If an owner does not have an heir designated in his/her last will and testament, the franchise will be treated as an abandoned franchise. In that event, SafeLeagues will assume ownership of the abandoned franchise and attempt to sell the franchise to a new owner. See section entitled “OWNERSHIP” for more details about abandonment.
  4. The heir must be listed as a co-owner on the Game Play Site.
  5. It is the heir’s sole responsibility to contact SafeLeagues to take claim of a franchise prior to the League Renewal Deadline. SafeLeagues will begin re-selling abandoned franchises after the League Renewal Deadline.

Each year is considered a new we offer fantasy contest for people to pay to play in and when you pay, you enter that contest. We hold spots in the new year’s contest for people who played in last year’s contest until the payment deadline. Once that deadline passes, if someone doesn’t return, we find new people to enter this year’s contest.

Given this is a dynasty league, we don’t change most things after year one. We try to avoid things affect scoring, roster size or things that affect how people have constructed a roster, starting lineup, etc. After year one, people pay each year to play with this set of rules when they joined the pre-existing dynasty league contest we offered. One year we added a modification to allow automatic trading instead of commish approval and have kept that in each contest since. One year we added a requirement to prepay for a future year if trading a future pick (1st rounder).

For example, we have to mark owners with a badge who have been in more than 500 of our contests as a highly experienced player (for example, if Mike has played in this one league for 5 years, that is counted as 5 contests because it’s a new contest each year that he pays to enter).

Rule changes that SafeLeagues does not feel have or would have affected how a franchise has constructed their roster, may be changed after the end of the season and prior to the following season/contest.

Scoring, starting lineup, and roster size changes will almost never happen and if they did, it would be with a lengthy notice.

SafeLeagues will not have votes to decide any rule change.

Rules are set by SafeLeagues. Payment to play in a SafeLeagues league is an agreement to abide by these rules.
